EA Dialogue Series
True, Huston. Got any ideas yourself?
The East Africa Dialogue Series along with the Prince Sadruddin Aga Khan Fund for the Environment are proud to present: The East Africa Youth Eco-Challenge 2015!
The Youth Eco-Challenge invites young East Africans to work in teams to identify problems and offer practical solutions to environmental challenges in their community. Themes to be considered for this challenge include energy, food, water, and waste.
Are you a young East African who wants to make a lasting change in your community? Form a team and submit a 5-minute video before the deadline of May 15, 2015 as per the rules and guidelines below. You could be awarded $3,000 to make your idea a reality plus the opportunity to work with experts to take your idea to the next level!
Eligibility is determined by the team composition. The team leader must be below the age of 25.
Submit a 5-minute video telling us about an environmental problem in your community and your idea to address it through innovation and collaboration.
HERE’S WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:
1. Innovation: Is the work original, innovative or a creative and significant improvement on previous efforts to solve the same problem? How will the innovation create value for the community?
2. Community Connection and Impact: Do you have a compelling case to demonstrate you understand the community and its needs? How much difference will it make in the community and what impact will it have for the wider population? How do you plan to sustain the impact?
3. Feasibility: Is this a realistic solution to the problem? Do you have the support of critical community partners (local leaders) to help implement the project?
ARE YOU READY FOR THE CHALLENGE?
The Youth Eco-challenge video submission deadline has been extended until further notice. There is still time to submit your video!
